Fjordland Names Tom Schroeter President
Senior British Columbia Government Geologist
to Take Helm at Mineral Explorer

Fjordland Exploration Inc. (TSX-V: FEX) is pleased to report that Tom G. Schroeter has accepted the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company effective June 1, 2007.  Mr. Schroeter P.Eng/P.Geo. (B.C.) has been with the British Columbia Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources (BCMEMPR) since 1973, and in 1986 assumed the position of Senior Regional Geologist responsible for the entire province.

 During his time with the BCMEMPR, Mr. Schroeter established a reputation as one of the most respected and expert authorities on British Columbia’s geology and mineral deposits.  His detailed knowledge was gained through field examination of most of BC’s significant mineral deposits and mines, as well as innumerable exploration projects.  He is a member and chair of numerous professional associations and committees, and has published extensively on British Columbia geology and mining.

 In recognition of Mr. Schroeter’s industry achievements, he has received a number of important awards including “The Christopher J. Westerman Memorial Award” which recognizes geoscientists who have exhibited high levels of dedication and integrity that characterize the geoscience profession at its best.  This year he received the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada “Special Achievement Award” in recognition of his contributions to the mineral exploration industry in British Columbia and Canada. 

Mr. Schroeter is a member of a number of professional associations including the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia, the Geological Association of Canada, the Association for Mineral Exploration British Columbia, the Society of Economic Geologists, the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum, and is a past chairman of the Vancouver Mineral Exploration Group. He holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Geology from  Carleton University and a M.Sc. in Geology from the University of Western Ontario.  

 Fjordland’s current President, Victor Tanaka, will continue with the Company as a director and work closely with Mr. Schroeter.  Comments Vic Tanaka, “Tom’s outstanding knowledge, geological expertise and industry contacts are tremendous assets to Fjordland.  His addition at this time is ideal as we move closer to drilling on our projects.”
